In spite of having no training, job or income,
many young Honduran boys leave the rural areas and
migrate to the city in search of better
opportunities. Once there, it is easy for them to
be pulled into the cycle of poverty and violence
found in life on the street.
Flor
Azul is Sociedad's response to this persistent
problem - a farm residence and school that
provides boys ages 7-15 with a place where they
can live with dignity while being given basic
care, an education and valuable vocational
training in different trades. Through 'learning by
doing' the boys are prepared for a more promising
future.
